The photo on the left is a picture of a conservatory base. | Laying The Cill The first step in building a Conservatory, after making the base, is laying the cill. The cill is laid out as shown in the photo, and then it is screw fixed to the base. |

Erecting the Frame Work The Second step is erecting the frame work. The photo shows the left hand side being erected. The frame is first placed into position, and then screwed into the cill, and the adjacent wall. | Fixing the Corner Posts Step three is fixing the corner posts. The photo shows the pilot holes being drilled for screwing the frame work to the corner post. It is important to note that the frame is fixed to the corner post, as opposed to the corner post being screwed to the frame. |

French Doors The next thing to do is to erect the French Doors. Similarly, the French Doors are screwed to the cill - just like the frame work. The doors are then screwed to the frame work, in the same way that the frame was screwed to the corner post. | Erecting the penultimate frame As the photo shows the penultimate frame is erected. The larger frame is erected first, as it is easier to fix the smaller frame last, as there is less to work with. |

The Final Frame The smaller frame is now added. It is screwed into the cill and the French door. | Final Corner Post The last stage before adding the roof, is screwing the final corner post into place. When this has been done, you are then ready to add the roof. |

Roofing Ledge The first preparation stage for the roof is the roofing ledge. The roofing ledge is screwed to the top of the frame work, and then a rubber gasket is wedged in between the frame and ledge. In the picture, the ledge has all ready been fixed, and the gasket is being wedged in place. This creates an air tight seal. | The Roof The roof is assembled and fixed to the framework. The final stage is glazing the roof and frames. Voila! Your conservatory is now complete. |
